With another year drawing to a close, let’s revisit my favourite EdSmart highlights for the year whilst also introducing more new features (because we never stop improving at EdSmart)!

Character limit increase📈
Even though 4000 characters seems like a lot, sometimes that still hasn’t been enough for you to say what you want, in the way that you want. So, we’ve listened to you and we’re pleased to announce we have removed the 4000 character limit for Read Only Text Blocks and Long Description fields 📝

Templates within Categories sorted alphabetically
And we’ve made yet another EdSmart refinement – Templates are now sorted alphabetically within their Categories, which already sort alphabetically. This should make it far easier to find what you’re looking for😅
It just makes sense 🤓️

Conditional Workflows 🙌
EdSmart’s Conditional Workflows enable one Template to generate Forms that go to different people depending on choices made by the Form Creator 😍. For example, PD requests can automatically go to the right person for approval based on answers provided by the Form Creator within the Form. And no more guessing for your newbies 🎉

EdSmart Payments in Parent Initiated Forms 👛
When we added the ability for schools to collect payments with Parent Initiated Forms (PIFs), we knew we were bringing in a much-needed feature. Being able to collect payments for enrolments, music lessons and subject nominations via PIFs streamlined an important activity – a significant EdSmart ‘hit’ with schools in 2022👌

Dashboard improvements ️🗂️
We made a number of significant improvements and tweaks to the EdSmart Dashboard this year to make it easier for our less frequent/knowledgable Users to get more out of EdSmart.
For example, the My Current Work widget sorts by date and My Current Processes now has additional search capabilities. Not only have EdSmart Power Users loved the changes we’ve made to the Dashboard but everyone has benefited from a better user experience ✅

ISO27001 Accreditation 🔏
EdSmart scored a major achievement this year with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 accreditation. This accreditation refers specifically to the requirements for establishing, maintaining and continually improving an information security management system within the context of an organisation.
As our co-founder, David Eedle, said, “This certification tells our customers and EdTech partners that we understand they entrust us with their student, parent and staff information, and it’s our responsibility to safeguard it.” 🔏

Improved account management for Staff with a Parent account🎭
For Staff who are also Parents of children at the same school, now you can select your Staff account or your Parent account when you log into EdSmart using SAML SSO (single sign on)
