In early 2019, Adelaide Botanic High School joined the EdSmart schools community. EdSmart’s platform was selected as the school’s key Student Organisation System based on its capacity for integration and customisation.
Considered Adelaide’s newest and most remarkable high school, the $100 million Adelaide Botanic High has only just opened. The school is committed to showcasing the best of 21st Century learning, catering for the needs of all students through its extensive curriculum rooted in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM), as well as building local relationships and research.
The school has a capacity of providing 1250 students from inner-city suburbs with greater access to high quality secondary learning. They started the school year with roughly 350 year 8 and 9 students but that number is projected to reach 1250 students by 2022.
EdSmart appealed to Adelaide Botanic High School because its deployment has empowered the school to “communicate 100% and set this expectation right from the start”.
Using the Parent Slips and Broadcast modules, the staff and community at Adelaide Botanic High School have been able to "continue existing administrative practices but with EdSmart are now paper-lite in the administration of our school". This has created an environment in which collecting school forms has become much more convenient, yielding increased engagement from parents and students.
Starting the year off on the right foot, the school is already kicking massive goals in their EdSmart performance with an average return rate of 95.4% across 3,000 slips sent over one of their first fortnight's of use (21st January – 7th February 2019).
For educators at Adelaide Botanic High School, deploying EdSmart has been a logical decision that is already delivering brilliant results. Through EdSmart's templates and onboarding process, the school has been able to visualise how other experienced schools are using the product and the direction their own administrators can take when developing their own infrastructure.
